My Story
I love all things home and I started Home Meade with that in mind.
I began my career in design and then transitioned to environmental science with my bachelor’s degree and then transitioned, once again, to teaching. Along the way, I also became a mom to my son, Eli, and my daughter, Amelia. I have thoroughly enjoyed every part of my career and raising a family and feel that it all has led to my next journey: woodworking design.
I find great joy in creating pieces in wood and it runs deep in my family. My grandfather, Lee, was a woodworker and cabinet maker in Detroit. My father, Phil, an accomplished businessman, is a master wood worker. My husband, Keith, a contractor and building official, is also a wood-working master. I have been around woodworking my entire life and, over the last few years, I have realized how much I truly enjoy this work!
My art is representative of living along the coast and my love for the ocean and ocean life. My wood art design stems from my admiration of pinned specimen collections that showcase the detail and beauty of various life forms on our beautiful planet. All of my products are hand made in my studio and wood shop located on the west coast of Florida in Palm Harbor.
